Signing Ceremony ADI-HKUST RI Partnership Program


As the Greater China’s importance to Analog Devices Inc. (ADI) continues to grow both as a market and a R&D hub, the need to establish synergy with elite universities in the region becomes imminent for both Research Collaboration, Talent Development & Recruitment, Internship Joint Education and Engineer-in-residence Program.

HKUST is a top-ranked research-oriented university in Asia with active research activities and achievements in the areas of robotics, control, microelectronics, IC design, semiconductor materials and process, communication, information technology and nanotechnology. Both ADI and HKUST are keen on consideration of establishing a major research collaboration in selected areas.

The proposal of establishing Joint Research Initiatives to sponsor research and talent-development under the broad theme that is of particular interest to both ADI and HKUST. This approach can better utilize the funding resources to create synergy between related projects and harness the expertise of multiple faculty by promoting interdisciplinary projects.

Starting from 2017, Analog Devices Incorporated is pleased to provide the amount of US$50,000 for 3 consecutive years as an unrestricted gift to the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.

The fund will be used for the establishment of HKUST Robotics Institute and its research/ education purposes.  The results of these endeavors will ensue the general advancement of fundamental research in the technology area and shall be for the benefit of the public. Aside from the donation, ADI will work the RI to identify interested research area, to hold review meeting to understand the progress and to encourage the researchers to meet the ADI business unit personnel regularly.
